Mission of Anchor Inn on the Lake, a Christian Bed and Breakfast on Table Rock Lake near Branson:
“To serve our Anchor in life, Jesus Christ, by providing
a “home port” to all who come our way.
In a world filled with stress, hectic
schedules, and on-the-run relationships, we seek to provide our
guests a haven to relax, seek His presence, or rekindle marital
relationships.”
About our name:
The name of our Bed and Breakfast, Anchor
Inn on the Lake, comes from a Bible passage found in Hebrews
6:19-20.
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and
steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has
entered as a forerunner for us…,”
These verses use a nautical analogy to
explain the surety of the Christian’s salvation and Christ’s
role in securing it.
It refers to the difficulty that ancient
sailing ships had entering the shelter of a Mediterranean port
when the winds were not favorable. Under
such conditions, ships would not be able to sail into the port
so they would lower a row boat that would row into the harbor pulling
a line called a “forerunner.” Once in the safe
harbor, the crew of the rowboat would attach the forerunner to
an “anchoria” which was a very large stone or structure
that was solidly founded to the earth. Then the ship’s
crew would be able to winch their ship into the safe harbor drawing
them toward the anchoria.
Like the “Anchoria”, the Christian’s hope is
solid, secure, and steadfast. Christ is the Christian’s “forerunner” that
draws him or her into the safe harbor, “inside the veil”,
into the presence of God Himself.
We want our Inn to be solidly Anchored
in His will.
